An addendum lets you change a running tenancy without recreating it — the rent, the duration, the deposit, the tenants or the clauses. This article explains how to create an addendum from the “Addenda” tab of the tenancy, fill in the change according to its type, check the document, start the electronic signing procedure, and when the change is actually carried over to the tenancy.
If a rent or a security deposit is missing from the “Finance” section, you can recreate it. Check first that the tenancy is active, that it has not come to an end and that the generation and receipt dates are right, then use the “Regenerate payments” action in the “Tenancies” section. You can also add a rent by hand.
For every property and every tenancy agreement, you can record the certificates and contracts you have taken out — insurance policies, electricity suppliers, internet providers, energy performance certificates and others. Enter them in the “Certificates & Contracts” tab on the property record, or the “Insurance” tab on the tenancy record, and Rentila reminds you before each one expires.
To start the signing procedure, open the tenancy agreement creation or editing form and go to the “Signature” tab. Check that the email addresses and mobile numbers of every signatory are correct before you begin. Deactivating a tenancy stops the software generating any further rents, after which you can archive it. Use the “Deactivate” action to the right of the tenancy. The software also deactivates a tenancy on its own when the end date has passed without tacit renewal, or after several months without a login. Both cases can be reactivated.
