How to set up a new Rentila account in 10 steps
Setting up a Rentila account is quick and easy. A few minutes is enough to start managing your properties without worry. To help you along, here is the order to work in: add a property, a tenant and a tenancy, then fill in the rest with documents, tasks, expenses and so on.
- Create a property: • Enter everything about the property, including the address, a description, photos, access codes and fittings. • You can also record the related contracts and certificates, such as insurance and technical inspections.
- Add a tenant: • Enter your tenant’s details, such as their name, address, phone number and email address. • You can invite your tenant and give them access to their own tenant area.
- Create a tenancy: • Enter the details of the tenancy agreement, including the type, the dates, the rent and the security deposit. • You can also record the related policies, such as tenant’s contents insurance and rent guarantee insurance.
- Draw up a furnishings inventory (if you let furnished): • List everything provided in the let property.
- Carry out an inventory: • Take the meter readings, list all the furniture and equipment included in the letting, and add photos as a visual record.
- Add contacts: • Record the details of the people you rely on, such as the caretaker, the plumber, the cleaner or the managing agent.
- Create tasks and reminders: • Enter the tasks and reminders that matter for your let property. You can set reminders for inspection expiry dates, rent increases and service-charge reconciliations, or tasks such as asking the tenant for their insurance certificate.
- Add documents: • Upload the documents that relate to your property, such as inspections and contracts. Some can even be shared with your tenants — house rules, for instance.
- Record your expenses: • Enter your expenses and invoices, whether they are equipment purchases, works or assorted subscriptions.
- Go and make yourself a cup of tea ☕
