# How to set up a new Rentila account in 10 steps

Setting up a Rentila account is quick and easy. A few minutes is enough to start managing your properties without worry. To help you along, here is the order to work in: add a property, a tenant and a tenancy, then fill in the rest with documents, tasks, expenses and so on.

1. **Create a property**:
  • Enter everything about the property, including the address, a description, photos, access codes and fittings.
  • You can also record the related contracts and certificates, such as insurance and technical inspections.
2. **Add a tenant**:
  • Enter your tenant’s details, such as their name, address, phone number and email address.
  • You can invite your tenant and give them access to their own tenant area.
3. **Create a tenancy**:
  • Enter the details of the tenancy agreement, including the type, the dates, the rent and the security deposit.
  • You can also record the related policies, such as tenant’s contents insurance and rent guarantee insurance.
4. **Draw up a furnishings inventory** (if you let furnished):
  • List everything provided in the let property.
5. **Carry out an inventory**:
  • Take the meter readings, list all the furniture and equipment included in the letting, and add photos as a visual record.
6. **Add contacts**:
  • Record the details of the people you rely on, such as the caretaker, the plumber, the cleaner or the managing agent.
7. **Create tasks and reminders**:
  • Enter the tasks and reminders that matter for your let property. You can set reminders for inspection expiry dates, rent increases and service-charge reconciliations, or tasks such as asking the tenant for their insurance certificate.
8. **Add documents**:
  • Upload the documents that relate to your property, such as inspections and contracts. Some can even be shared with your tenants — house rules, for instance.
9. **Record your expenses**:
  • Enter your expenses and invoices, whether they are equipment purchases, works or assorted subscriptions.
10. **Go and make yourself a cup of tea ☕**
