Add an income
To add an income, follow these simple steps: go to the “Finance” section, then click “New transaction”, “Add revenue”.
For each income, you can enter the following information:
- The property,
- The type,
- The date,
- The payer,
- The amount,
- The VAT amount.
In addition to this information, you can also enter:
- The tenancy agreement,
- A description,
- The associated documents.
Income falls into a few main types:
- Taxable income
- Security deposits
- Refunds and credit notes (non-taxable)
- Other income (non-taxable)
Rent income
In practice, you almost never need to add rent income manually, because rents are generated automatically on the date set in the tenancy agreement (see the settings for the receipt date and the payment generation date). However, if you want to add a rent manually (for example, to complete the rent history or to add a one-off rent), you can do so.
You can create a rent manually from the “Finance” section by choosing the “Add revenue” option with the “Rent” type (or by duplicating an old rent).
Income of the “Rent” type generates documents according to the payment status. While the rent is not paid, the document generated is a “Rent due notice”. For a partially paid rent, the document generated is a “Receipt”. For rents paid in full, the document generated is a “Rent receipt”.
Security deposit income
When you create a tenancy, the security deposit amount stated in the tenancy agreement is recorded as an income line in the “Finance” section.
To record a security deposit you have received, go to the “Finance” section and add an income of the “Security deposit” type. This automatically generates a receipt for the entry.
Once the tenancy has ended and the security deposit has been returned, you can record an expense of the “Remboursement : Dépôt de garantie” type (security deposit refund). A corresponding document will be created for this line, reflecting the details of the refund.
For income and expenses of the “Security deposit” type, you can tick the “Amount for information only” box. If you tick this option, the amount will not be included in the calculations and the balance of the “Finance” section.
