Meter readings

In this section you can create and manage the individual meter readings (electricity, water, heating) for your properties.

You can carry out the following operations:

  • Add a reading,
  • Edit a reading,
  • Duplicate a reading,
  • Add the amount of the consumption in the “Finance” section,
  • Archive a reading,
  • Delete a reading.

You can filter the records by various criteria such as the landlord, the property or the type.

You can also export your records using the “Export” action at the bottom of the table.

Create, edit or delete a meter reading

To add a meter reading, go to the “Tools” section, click “Meter readings”, then “New reading”. For each reading you can enter the property and tenancy, the meter number and type, the date and period, the previous and new readings, the unit price, the total amount and any documents. You can then post the amount to “Finance”.

Service charge reconciliation

Service charges have to be reconciled at least once a year, comparing what the tenants paid in advance against what the landlord actually spent. Record the recoverable expenses in the Finance section, then run the reconciliation from the “Tools” section. Rentila works out the difference and creates an income or an expense for it.
