Messages

In this section, you can send messages and talk to your tenants through an internal messaging system.

You can do the following:

  • Create a message,
  • View a message,
  • Delete a message.

The recipient is notified by email as soon as a message reaches them in Rentila. Note that only tenants who are logged in and have access to Rentila receive email notifications.

Why are tenants who are not logged in left out?

We do not email notifications to tenants who are not logged in, for several reasons: privacy, security, and keeping unsolicited email out of people’s inboxes.

  • Privacy: some tenants do not want a Rentila account and would rather their inbox was not filled with notifications about internal messages. The software respects that by not notifying them while they are not logged in.
  • Security: email notifications expose users to risks such as phishing emails pretending to come from the internal messaging system. Limiting notifications to logged-in users cuts that risk.
  • Encouraging people to use Rentila: the aim is to get tenants onto the platform, which makes the software more useful to everyone and improves the experience overall.

Sent messages are kept in the “Sent messages” section, and the recipient is notified by email as soon as the message reaches them in Rentila.
