# Regenerate rents

If you cannot find a rent or a security deposit in the “Finance” section, you can recreate it.

Before you start, check the following in the tenancy agreement:

- Make sure the tenancy is active.
- Check that the tenancy has not come to an end (check the end date and make sure the “Renew the contract tacitly” box is ticked).
- Go through the payment generation and receipt dates you entered.

If everything looks right, go to the “Tenancies” section and click the “Regenerate payments” action. The system then restores the missing payments, whether rents or security deposits.

You can also add a rent by hand from the “Finance” section, using the “Add revenue” option with the “Rent” type.

Regenerating rents does not change rents that already exist. It only creates the ones that are missing, following the schedule set in the tenancy. That schedule is built from the receipt date and the frequency selected in the tenancy agreement.
