# Create, edit or delete a system message template

### Create a system message template

To create an automatic system message template (tenant invitation, candidate invitation, home insurance reminder, etc.), follow these simple steps: Go to the “My account” section, click “System messages” and then the “New Templates” button.

When you create a custom template, it replaces the default template of the same type provided by Rentila.

For each property, you can only create one template per message type.

For each template, you can enter the following information:

- The **type** of message.
- The **template name**.
- The **properties concerned** (the properties need to be created beforehand).
- The **content**.
- The **status** of the template (Active/Disabled).

When you customise a template, you can edit the following elements:

- The **content**, including the template text.
- The **text format** (font, style, etc.).
- The **pre-filled tags**.

### Pre-filled tags

You can use **pre-filled tags**, available on the right. Each tag contains a specific piece of information from your account, such as the property address, the name of the landlord or tenant, etc. You can simply drag the tags and position them in the template text at the appropriate place.

<div class="alert">
<p><span class="lead">Important!</span></p>
<p>It is essential not to delete the dynamic tags or write hard-coded text in their place. Otherwise, the software will be unable to replace these elements with the dynamic data.</p>
</div>

### Edit a system message template

If you wish to edit an existing system message template, go to “My account”, then “System messages”, click the “Edit” action to the right of the template concerned, make the necessary changes, then click “Save”.

### Delete a system message template

To delete a system message template, go to “My account”, then “System messages”, and click the “Delete” action to the right of the template concerned.
