# Create, edit or delete a property or unit

### Create a property

To add a unit, follow these simple steps. Go to the “Properties” section, click “Units”, then click the “New unit” button.

For each property, you can enter the following information:

- The **address**,
- The **description**,
- The **equipment**,
- The **financial information**,
- The **administrative information**,
- The **contracts, certificates and diagnostics**,
- The **public profile details**,
- Add **photos**,
- Add **documents**.

Use the tabs at the top of the form to move between the different sets of information about your unit — the equipment, the various certificates and contracts, the public profile details, the photos, and so on.

Some of what you enter goes straight into the [public property profile](https://www.rentila.co.uk/support/property-public-profile) that you can share with prospective tenants, and into your tenancy agreements and other pre-filled documents.

<li><a class="documentlink" href="/landlord/export/?import_model=properties&amp;file_type=csv">CSV template</a></li>
</ul>
</div>

### Edit a property

To change an existing property, go to the “Properties” section, then “Units”, click the “Edit” action to the right of the unit concerned, make your changes, then click “Save”.

### Delete a property

To delete a property, go to the “Properties” section, then “Units”, and click the “Delete” action to the right of the property concerned.

If the property is attached to a tenancy agreement, an inventory (“Inventories”) or a furnishings list (“Furnishings”), you have to delete those first and then empty the trash. Otherwise the software will not let you delete the property.

Please note that deleting a property loses its whole history. It is usually better to archive properties than to delete them.
