# Property certificates, insurance and other contracts

For every property and every tenancy agreement, you can record the various certificates and contracts you have taken out, such as insurance policies, electricity suppliers, internet providers, energy performance certificates and other certificates.

- On the property record, enter these details in the “Certificates & Contracts” tab, which holds the supplier contracts and the certificates attached to the property.
- On the tenancy record, enter them in the “Insurance” tab, where you record the policies taken out by the tenant, or taken out to cover the tenancy.

For each contract and certificate, you can enter the following details:

- The **type**.
- A **document**.
- The **description**.
- The **date of issue** and the **expiry date**.

### Updating existing certificates and contracts

To update an existing contract or certificate, simply edit the information you have already entered, in the same place.

- On the property record, edit the property, then update the details in the “Certificates & Contracts” tab.
- On the tenancy record, edit the tenancy, then update the details in the “Insurance” tab.

### Reminders for expired certificates and contracts

Once a certificate’s expiry date has passed, it is treated as expired. A reminder then appears in the landlord’s account, prompting them to update the information. An email notification is also sent to the landlord, 30 days before expiry and again on the day it expires.
